Writing about a review of a book

EL MISTERI DE L’HABITACIÓ GROGA:

I’d like to recommend a book which I read recently, called El misteri de l’habitació groga. The author of the book is Gaston Leroux.

The book is a mystery and the setting is in France at the castle of Glandier. The main characters are Matilde Stangerson, the victim, and Joseph Rouletabille, the detective who resolves the crime.

The things I liked most about the book were the way with the detective solves the crime and the end when the readers know who the offender was. All the scenes are intriguing. The reading is complex and difficult to understand but it's very exciting and interesting. The story is narrated by the assistant of the Rouletabille called Sainclair.

All in all, I really liked the novel, and I thought that would have a typical and boring ending, I would change it because the ending was fascinating and original. I wouldn't change anything of the book because I like all the parts, all the characters and of course the story.

Is fashion important?

What do you think about fashion it’s important or not?

I think that it’s important because if you look fashionable the people like your image and then they have a good first impression of you

I look for a survey about fashion and I found that the 66 % of the people think that it’s important and the 34 % said that isn’t important.

Well now I'm going to explain some reasons to convince you that the fashion is important.

• 1^st reason: the first impression, for example when you meet someone and you wear tracksuit the other person may think that you are lazy or you don’t care about your appearance but if you wear a cut dress you show to the other a good image for a happy, energetic and responsible person. I mean that the clothes are important because it describes you and your personality
• 2^nd reason: the fashion is important because makes you more creative, every morning you have to choose which clothes wear and then you need to use your creativity.
• 3^rd reason: the fashion also is important for the religion because in some religions the women’s have to wear head scarves to cover their faces, or have to covered their skin or wear a certain clothes.
• 4rd reason: The fashion is important because is a means of expression of you and of the society, I mean that fashion describes and represents a decade and the political and social problems.
• 5^th reason: the fashion not depends about the price of the clothes, it depends about how to combine the outfits and to look fashionable.

Also fashion has bad things like:

• It’s a waste of the time and the result is only to feel better with yourself. The time wasted to feel good with yourself you can use it staying with family and friends.
• The fashion sometimes confuses because the important of the person is the personality, the soul and no the appearance
• The fashion isn’t important because you spend a lot of money with clothes while there are people starving. The people buy thing only because there are fashion but probably they don’t use it.

My last summer

Hi my name is Xènia and now I'm going to talk about my last summer.

First I'm going to explain my trip to Lourdes then I will talk about the summer school of dance, theatre and music. After that I'm going to explain the days in Estartit and Empuriabrava then I will explain the week in France and finally I talk about the days in Figueres and Banyoles.

THE TRIP TO LOURDES:

This year I returned one week to Lourdes with some friends because I enjoyed a lot the experience last year. This year it was more fun because we met more people and it was different because me and my fiends we formed an animation group and every morning we went with the guitars, singing and wakening the people.

The experience was amazing and I hope I could go there next year.

THE SUMMER SCHOOL:

In the month of July I went to a summer school of dance, theater and music like every year. This year was the last one because we are too old to go there, but we enjoyed it a lot with the little girls during these 5 weeks preparing the musical.

ESTARTIT AND EMPURIABRAVA:

I went to l’Estartit for 5 days with my mother and some weekends I went to Empuriabrava with my family. I enjoyed a lot these days because I spend the day in the sea, in the pool, shopping, sailing… I love the beach.

FRANCE:

These days were fantastic I spent every day in a different place of France. I went to Toulouse, Villesèquelande, Alzonne, Bram, Arzens, Foix and Carcassonne. The 2 days in Toulouse were incredible there, we saw a lots of monuments, big buildings and beautiful gardens. Also it was amazing the Carcassonne castle. It is enormous and very beautiful I love all of it because inside there are a lots of shops and restaurants and it has a good views. Also there are incredible medieval streets and a big church and it also had a big wheel.

THE DAYS IN FIGUERES AND BANYOLES:

I spent 3 days in Figueres because I went to different concerts called l’Acustica. These days I stayed at my cousin’s house. On Thursday I went with my cousin and her friends to the concert of Oques Grasses and on Friday with Núria we went to the concert of Txarango. It was amazing and we spent all the concert singing and having fun. During the days I also went inside Figueres to see different activities or concerts with my uncles. I stayed in Banyoles the other part of the summer. And we met every day with my friends. The better days were the summer carnival and the festivals in Banyoles because I laugh, sing, dance a lot and I had fun with my friends.

I also stayed at home and I helped my parents in the rural house because we had British guests and gave me the opportunity to speak English.

Elisenda: She went to l'Arcada and met english people. She went with her best friend in Avinyonet. She went with family in Sweden.
Nico: He went ina a championshp in Sevilla also went in Menorca and met friends, went he returned to Banyoles he met their friends.
