An old lady who
claims to be a survivor of the Titanic tells her story to an eager
group of treasure hunters, who are in search of a rare diamond in the
Titanic's wreckage. Her name is Rose and she was a passenger on the
Titanic along with the star, Jack. The two meet and Rose, unhappy
with her arranged marriage to male chauvinist pig Cal. Jack, a young
artist, who struggles to get through with life yet inexplicably
enjoys it, sees the true Rose hidden behind the upper class snob. As
he continues to spend time with her the two fall in love and kiss on
the bow of the Titanic. The ship hits an iceberg and Jack is framed
for theft and chained up in the lower levels of the ship while it is
sinking. Rose tries to find a way to free him, and get off the ship.
She ends up being rescued but Jack dies.
Main
characters:
Jack
Dawson
– A third-class passenger on the Titanic, Jack Dawson got on the
boat by winning a poker game with two of his friends. In love with
first class passenger Rose Dewitt Bukater, much of the 1997 Titanic
movie focuses on their affair. Jack was arrested when the Titanic
began to sink and is saved by Rose. Jack Dawson dies on April 15,
1912 from hypothermia after the sinking of the Titanic.
Rose
DeWitt Bukater
– Born in Philadelphia in 1895, Rose Dewitt Bukater is 17 years
old during the maiden voyage of the Titanic. She boards the ship
with her fiancé Caledon Hockley and her mother Ruth. Although not
in love with Cal, she is being forced to marry him through an
arrangement set by her mother in order to maintain the family’s
high status. Tired of the first class lifestyle and not wanting to
marry Cal, Rose tries to commit suicide by throwing herself
overboard. She is saved by third class passenger Jack Dawson. The
two fall in love and their story is the main focus of the Titanic
movie.
Caledon
“Cal” Hockley –
The rich fiance of Rose Bukater, Cal is the son of fictional steel
tycoon Nathan Hockey. Hockley is aboard the Titanic for its maiden
voyage on the way to New York from Southampton, England, to marry
his 17 year old fiance Rose. Obvivi0us or choosing to ignore the
fact that Rose hates him and doesn’t wish to marry him, he
purchases a diamond known as the “Heart of the Ocean” and
presents it to Rose. Hockley becomes one of the movie’s
antagonists and the “Heart of the Ocean” becomes a crucial plot
point.
Molly
Brown –
Also known as the “Unsinkable” Molly Brown, this Titanic
survivor was a wealthy first class passenger. After the Titanic
began sinking, she helped many passengers board lifeboats and helped
many other individuals to safety. She was finally convinced to board
a lifeboat herself, which she then took control of and began looking
for more passengers in need. It’s not known whether or not she
saved any passengers after being in the lifeboat, but her courageous
acts earned her the nickname “Unsinkable” Molly Brown.
Ruth
Dewitt Bukater
– The mother of Rose Dewitt Bukater, she is the one responsible
for the arrangements for marriage between Rose and steel tycoon’s
son Caledon Hockley. Obsessed with her image and maintaining her
wealth, this character is determined to salvage her wealth. After
Rose’s father died, the family was left with nothing but debts
disguised within an upper class name. Ruth thinks very little of
Jack and sees him as a threat to Rose’s future wealth.
Old
Rose
– One of the first characters seen in the movie, it is old Rose
who recalls the story of the Titanic to explorer Brock Lovett
(played by Bill Paxton). The entire Titanic movie is based on her
recollection of the events during the maiden voyage of the Titanic.
Stewart was recently recognized as being the oldest member of the
cast and her career was recognized in front of prestigious actors
and film enthusiasts.
Brock
Lovett
– Brock Lovett is a treasure hunter known for searching sunken
vessels for valuables. In his latest expedition he is commissioned
to find the legendary “Heart of the Ocean” by searching the
Titanic wreck. After finding the safe that was believed to belong to
Caledon Hockley, the person that was believed to have purchased the
“Heart of the Ocean”, Lovett opens it but doesn’t find the
necklace. Instead he finds soggy bank statements and a drawing of
young Rose Dewitt Bukater wearing the necklace. Lovett receives a
telephone call from Old Rose and she and her daughter Lizzie are
flown aboard his ship to tell the story.
Captain
Edward Smith
– Captain of the legendary Titanic, Captain Edward Smith was
ordered by the character Bruce Ismay to light the last of the 4
boilers on the Titanic. This increase in speed supposedly made the
ship too fast to avoid impact with the iceberg. It is said that
Smith was at fault for the sinking of the Titanic, but many believe
that even the skilled captain couldn’t have done anything to avoid
the sinking of the ship.
Spicer
Lovejoy
– Valet and bodyguard to Caledon Hockley, Lovejoy will do anything
to protect the name of his employer. One of the main antagonists in
the movie, Dawson has quite a few problems with Lovejoy and Hockley
during the film.
Thomas
Andrews
– The main architect of the Titanic, Thomas Andrews is aboard the
vessel for its maiden voyage.
Bruce
Ismay
– The managing directors of the White Star Line, Ismay is one of
the individuals who deemed the Titanic as ‘unsinkable’.
Lizzy
Calvert
– Daughter Rose Calvert, who used to be Rose Dewitt Bukater, the
main protagonist of the Titanic movie.
Personal
opinion:
This
was definitely a movie that I remember. I really enjoyed watching the
whole movie. The whole thing was entertaining and exciting to watch.
The two main characters were very good together in the movie and I
really enjoyed watching each other act in the movie. It’s a great
love story and I really enjoyed it.
Everything
about it was nice, the special effects were good, the acting was
good, the story was good. It started out good and the middle and the
ending was emotive.
Almost
everyone I knew talked about this movie. It was terrific and a movie
that you wouldn’t forget about. I really enjoyed the movie and
liked all of it. I would definitely recommend this movie. I think
that it has romance, along with other things that make a good movie.

2nd post:
The Belgian city of Antewerp has crated special lanes for people who text and walk. Sponsored by a local phone business, the "text walking lanes" have been established as a temporary measure in the city's busy shopping streets. But officials say they could become permanent, if they lead to a reduction in accidents. The idea is not new. In 2014, Chinese authorities in the city of Chongquing introduced a 30-metre "mobile phone lane". And in June of this year, a university in Utah gave students who walk and text at he same time their own lane (photo) in a new student centre to reduce "hallway" gridlock.
I
am writing to complain about the waiters of your restaurant, they are
very rude. I came the last weekend and they were provoking us and
they also ate bubble gum and chatted all the time.
Firstly,
when I arrived to the restaurant with my family for dinner, the
waitress made a mistake with the table and she changed our table for
another. Also, during the dinner the waiters distributed the dishes
wrong and they were criticizing us and said banned words. Another
thing that surprised me was that they were eating bubble. The
behavior of the staff was totally inappropriate, so we are very
disappointed with the restaurant.
Furthermore,
we were shocked to see that the steak and the pork were not cooked
enough and in one salad we found a spider, this is completely
unacceptable.
Until
now, I had always been really impressed with your restaurant, your
waiters and the category of the food. It is very sad the behavior of
the workers because until now I thought that the employers were
polite, but I was wrong. Under the circumstances, I would be grateful
if you could give me a full refund or a good dinner without problems.
I
look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
In 1799, New York City police constable Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) is facing imprisonment for going against traditional methods and favoring forensic investigation techniques, such as autopsies, considered unorthodox and unimportant at the time. Ichabod submits to deployment with his bag of tools to the Westchester County of Sleepy Hollow, New York, which has been plagued by a series of brutal slayings in which the victims have been found decapitated: Peter Van Garrett , wealthy farmer and landowner; his son Dirk; and the widow Emily Winship. Arriving in Sleepy Hollow, Crane is informed by the town's elders that the killer is not of flesh and blood, but rather an undead headless mercenary from the American Revolutionary War who rides at night on a massive black steed in search of his missing head.
CHARACTERS' DESCRIPTION (list of adjectives)
Lady Van Tassel: Reverend Steenwyck: Magistrate Samuel Philipse: Ichabod Crane: A native of Connecticut, Ichabod Crane comes to Sleepy Hollow to work as a schoolteacher and singing master. His erudition and skill at singing are disputed only by the narrator. He is tall and extremely thin with a huge appetite and a certain amount of greed. He uses the rod as his preferred method of disciplining his students—but only on those strong enough to bear it. He is especially interested in ghost stories and the supernatural, because he believes in it. His attempt to woo Katrina Van Tassel fails just before he meets the headless horseman, who is most likely Ichabod's primary competition in disguise. Katrina Van Tassel:The only child of a wealthy farmer, Baltus Van Tassel, Katrina is eighteen and universally known for both her beauty and her riches. She is also a flirt, and she always dresses to show off her best features. She is one of Ichabod Crane’s singing students, and she is the object of his desires. Just at the point when Ichabod thinks he has won her over, the narrator suggests that an undisclosed attempt was unsuccessful, which means that Ichabod must leave her house dejected and susceptible to his worst fears.
Young Masbath: Brom Van Brunt: Brom, short for Abraham, is Ichabod Crane’s greatest rival in the fight for Katrina’s hand. He is boisterous, burly, and the hero of the area, known for his heroics and feats of strength, for which he earns the nickname Brom Bones. He is especially for skilled on horseback. He is mischievous, but he is often motivated by goodwill. He is most likely the one in disguise as the Headless Horseman. Baltus Van Tassel: Baltus Van Tassel, also known as Balt, is a thriving and contented farmer, father of Katrina, who is perfectly happy within the confines of his farm. He lives abundantly but not proudly. Dr. Thomas Lancaster: Notary James Hardenbrook: Killian, Beth's husband: Beth Killian, the Midwife: Peter Van Garrett:

OPINION: Did you like the film? Why? I didn't like the film because is disgusting and it aperes a lot of blood but I think that the plot is interesting and original, so maybe the same story but a bit different might like me.
What
have you been doing since we last met? Did you do some important
action that has made a difference to your life? I mean that if you
have done something that fascinated and excited you. In my case, yes,
this summer I went to a summer school to work as a pre-monitor and I
enjoyed a lot that month, so I think that I will return the next
summer. There we did crafts, excursions, theater, histories, and
basically we played a lot and we had fun.
During
this month I stayed all the day with the kids, they are very outgoing
and enthusiastic about all activities. During the morning we jump,
dance, run… Then we did English classes and finally handcrafts or
paintings. At the end of this month we finished the camp with a big
excursion and with water games and it's been a big success, so I’m
really pleased.
I
feel happy and a bit stressed because the days were intensive and the
experience benefited me. In conclusion I think that it's a hard work
because you have to organize all the games and also because you spend
all the days working meanwhile the other people are having fun, but I
verified that it's worth it because the kids are very cute.
Anyway
I’ve got to go to the doctor so I hope that you have spent a good
summer. Send me a mail explaining your summer
*What makes a good friend for you? A good friend is supportive when you feel down, also is enthusiastic about your hobbies, even if they think they’re boring. A good friend is optimistic about your chances of passing an exam, and sympathetic when you fail. It’s eager to hear your news and of course is dedicated to your friendship.
*Describe a time when you made a new friend. What were you doing when you met him/her? What was your new friend like? This year I made a new friend called Paola. I met her at a pre-monitors curs in Esponellà. She is very enthusiastic and optimistic because she always smiles. She's very creative and energetic because she never stops she is always moving. Finally she’s friendly and sociable with all the people. Physically she’s not very tall. She's got straight an blonde hair and brown eyes and she’s very stylish.
